Adverbs of comparison and contrast 

There are certain words or adverbs are used to describe or indicate how much given actions and qualities are similar and dissimilar. These words highlight How given ideas are similar or different. To show relationship between two ideas, comparative adverbs are used; while to show the relationship of more than two, superlative adverbs become relevant. similarly, likewise, nevertheless, nonetheless, still, yet, whereas, more, best, etc. are important examples of adverbs of comparison and contrast.

In the comparative form, to make comparison, comparative adverbs like “more, -er” are used. In the above examples, more, quicker indicate comparative degree between two situations.

Usually, girls are more punctual than boys.
